Bunker Museum Hirtshals is the only excavated, complete German defense installation from World War II in Denmark which is open to the public. The museum consists of 54 excavated bunkers along with many gun, mortar and machingun locations.
Hirtshals Golf Club, one of North Jutlands best courses and as many call it: a natural gem. The course is partly integrated into Kjul Klitplantage and the surrounding forest, which results in many exciting and challenging holes. In short, worth a visit!
Hirtshals is a wonderful city and it is a real pleasure to be able to tell about the city’s identity. We do this at Hirtshals Museum. A great tale lies in the harbor. Without it, no city. That is why the story of engineer Fibiger’s fantastic harbor construction in the first decades of the 20th century is the physical core of Hirtshals.
Hirtshals lighthouse was built in 1863 in a late classicist style with N.S. Nebelong as an architect and C.F. Rough as an engineer. The facility is composed of the lighthouse, two corridor buildings that connect the lighthouse with the two functionary buildings, an outbuilding (1863), a machine house (1914) and a siren house (1958).
Nordsøen Oceanarium is a public aquarium and museum that opened in 1998 on the shores of the North Sea in Hirtshals, North Jutland, Denmark. Their main tank, which holds 4,500,000 liters, is the largest in Northern Europe, but the Oceanarium also has several smaller habitat aquariums and an exhibition of seals. The species shown are native to the seas around Denmark.

Hirtshals Fiskefestival extends over three days with several regular activities and events. Among other things, it offers activities for children, guided harbor tours, competitions, tastings and auction of fish. Friday and Saturday nights there is a large fish buffet, made from local products, and on Saturday night the festival closes with live music and partying.
When visiting northern Jutland, a visit to Skagen and Grenen is definitely a necessity. Do not deceive yourself for this fascinating encounter with the forces of nature, which can be combined with the beautiful city of Skagen and the surrounding, historical monuments.
Hjørring is a very lively trading town that invites you to shop all year round. The long pedestrian street winds through the center of Hjørring. Here are shops side by side with cafes and restaurants. With the cozy Stokbrogade in the west and the bustling Metropol ShoppingCenter in the east, Hjørring has everything the shopping heart could desire. Here you will find a wealth of exciting shops, restaurants and specialty shops with everything from jewelry, designer furniture and home furnishings to shoes and clothing. In the middle of Østergade there is also a nice playground for the kids.
Tornby beach is one of the areas best beaches and therefore also one of the most visited. During the summer, lifeguards protect the beach. The beautiful blue water and the lovely white sand make the beach a wonderful place. All year round you have beautiful nature experiences. The high sun backing from the sky in summer and the wind howling and blowing around sea foam in autumn and winter.
The shops in Lønstrup are all run by local owners, which means that they are unique and personal in their choices and expressions. This also means that the shops are open all year round. You will find fashion clothes, sportswear, art and much more.

Experience the rugged landscape at Kandestederne / Skiveren. The wide beach and the high dunes invite to long walks where you can enjoy the view of the North Sea and the open plains.
A short drive from Hirtshals you will find Kjul beach, where there is also a nice cottage area. The beach is one of the area’s best beaches for families with children. The beach in Kjul is located 6 km outside Hirtshals town, in an area surrounded by Lilleheden dune plantation and Uggerby dune plantation.

In Hirtshals, the town and the harbor are closely connected via Den Grønne Plads and the large, beautiful monument Trappen, which in 2019 was upgraded with viewing plateaus.
